Häagen-Dazs

I was involved with Häagen-Dazs account when working part time at Ketchum Advertising during those days when I was studying at NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts). This series of ads were written and art directed for a school project.

Campaign for SPCA

These SPCA ads were conceived for an advertising campaign to educate the public about animal responsibilities and pet care. As part of the final year assignment to graduate with a Diploma in Graphic Design (Advertising Major), I had to interview the veterinary staff and write to various international animal welfare accociations and animal rights group (including PETA, Green Peace, AWA, American Humane, ASPCA, RSPCA in United Kingdom, SPCA in New Zealand) to obtain their media kit. I also wrote the creative rationale and the media proposal on top of the guidelines for use of the campaign's logo and signatures.

I love working on public service projects. They give me the opportunity to learn about issues that are important to the environment. The education I received out of this project is invaluable and enriching for my personal growth.

This logo was designed for the campaign. The concept behind the campaign is "loving your pets as you would for your family and partner". Green was chosen as the colour represents friendliness to the environment.
Press ad: "Don't let anything come between you and your best friend."
Press ad: "Spare a thought and help spare a life."
Press ad: "You should show the same consideration to animals in the streets."
Magazine ad: "When the master moved, his best friend was left to find his own shelter."
Magazine ad: "Are you just as qualified in looking after your pet?"

Bus ads: "Every mating season, hundreds of unneutered animals ended on this route."

Bumwear

A magazine ad for Bumwear, an online children batik wear retailer. The business is run by a friend who is also a mother like me. The idea and corporate slogan were concieved by me and the little girl in purple outfit is my daughter, Hannah, when she was a year and a half. The most challenging part of creating the ad was editing the photos of the children digitally with Photoshop. The original pictures were taken with messy background and were unsuitable for use in ads. Because the budget was low and time frame was tight, I decided to make do with them. The result supassed the client's expectation.

Lohmann Animal Health

A very interesting brochure for vaccines for chicken, a freelance job done at Bates Indochina. Lohmann Animal Health International is a leading manufacturer and supplier of poultry biologics for the U.S. and international vaccine markets. I conceptualised the idea and wrote the copy.

Angsana Resorts and Spas (Brochures)

It was a great honor to work with one of the world's best and most exclusive hotels and resorts group, the Banyan Tree. These are some of their brochures which I have written when I was working at Citrus, where Anton Mazer, creator of the two beautiful corporate identities for Angsana and Banyan Tree, was there as the creative director.

Angsana Resorts & Spa is the sister brand of the award-winning group and was launched by the Wah Chang Group in June 2000 with the opening of its flagship resort, Angsana Resort & Spa Bintan in Indonesia. The hotel group is embarking on a rapid expansion drive in the Asia-Pacific region. Following fast on the heels of the first resort was the opening of Angsana Resort & Spa Great Barrier Reef, targeted at the holiday market in Australia; Angsana Oasis Spa & Resort Bangalore in India and Angsana Resort & Spa Maldives Ihuru.

A press ad to advertise shredders from Ibico. After the merger, the name "Shredmaster" is now a brandname owned by General Binding Corporation (GBC).

Asia Rattan (Brochure)

A beautiful and well-designed corporate brochure for Asia Rattan, an reputable importer and exporter of natural cane and rattan. With over 50 years of business experience, the company is also the inventor of premium quality all weather wicker under the brands "Nasaplas", "Nasatech" and "Nasasupreme".

The concept was based upon environmental friendliness, which was one of the unique selling points of their products.

IDD 1500

These ads and brochure are part of a campaign to launch IDD 1500, a brand new International Direct Dialing service which was to be provided by Pacific Internet.

The team, including myself and Anton Mazor (my mentor, creative director and creator of many renown corporate identities including Pacific Internet and Banyan Tree Resorts), conceived a multi-channel, above and below the line, advertising campaign for this service. Our proposal included a series of press ads, poster ads, bus and train ads, as well as in-store promotions. We also worked with an event company to plan and execute publicity events to promote the service. We also designed the logo.

The sad news was Pacnet's IDD service never got launched. Instead, they went into web-based calling and roaming service and paired up with Skype (one of the best Internet Telephony Company in the world) to provide free communication service via PCs.

Regardless of that, this was one job that I put in a lot of effort and have particularly enjoyed with a great team of people.
